Deadmau5 returns fresh from a spat of UK dates with Some Chords. The Canadian electro-house connoisseur has gone to town on this painfully strong offering on Mau5. Taking the usual Mau5trap trip from mellow chords and atmospherics to heavy pulsing electro house, this track ticks every box. For Lack of a Better Explanation, this is a electro house for the masses!
My next pick is my household favourite Afrojack vs The Party Squad with a Msterdamn. This is scatty electro House just as we like it. No cheap thrills, just a pounding beat and the fidgety synths that A-Jack practically owns.
Eddie Thoneick and Erick Morrilo present an epic portion of vocal house on Subliminal with Nothing Better. Setting the standard for a summer of residency at Pacha, Morillo has produced a chunk of subliminal house magic! The soulful vocals of Shena on Morillo’s bass-laden canvas works perfectly in this incredible collaboration.
BugEyed Records have fuelled the Electro House scene with gem after gem. Lazy Rich & Hirshy carry on the winning streak with Blast Off!. This offering finds itself somewhere between Ian Carey and The Toxic Avenger. The tunes filthy bass, crunchy leads and an infectious vocal line make this a tasty collaboration from a label that should be a household name by now!
German pioneers the Tune Brothers have hit Sume records HARD with High Energy 2010 (Tune Brothers Kob Mix), a funky offering of this instant club classic. For a Subliminal-esque vibe, give the High Energy 2010 (Tune Brothers Alert Mix) a try.
Finally, a funky little number on Checktime Records has caught my attention. Mariospray & Morris Corti have hit the digital world with Follow Me, an exquisite fusion of exotic Latin rhythms, funky brass vibes and a worthy vocal offering from Eleonora Rossi. Here is a tune that perfectly captures the energy and spirit of house music.
